About the Founder
Founded in 1999 as a small roadside stall in Jadavpur, Bawarchi grew under Rajiv Kumar Paul’s vision, dedication, and perseverance. Over the years, it became a popular multi-cuisine restaurant chain, widely loved for its affordable Mughlai biryanis, rolls, and warm service.
Today, Bawarchi stands as a trusted name in Kolkata’s food scene, serving diverse tastes across the city. Along with Bawarchi, Rajiv Kumar Paul’s ventures reflect his commitment to quality, tradition, and growth in the culinary world.

Our History
Bawarchi was introduced in 1999 by Mr. Rajiv Kumar Paul at the Jadavpur CIT Market complex, originally as a fast-food outlet meant to attract the young crowd of Jadavpur University. Launched on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya, it soon grew from a small eatery into a beloved destination for food lovers across Kolkata.
